Saratoga Nissan raided by state police, Attorney General's office, business records seized

Published: Wednesday, May 09, 2012

MALTA — A truck was loaded with boxes of documents from Saratoga Nissan Wednesday as part of an ongoing investigation by state police and the Attorney General’s office.

According to a statement issued by state police, their investigation, in conjunction with the Attorney’s General’s office, was prompted by several customer complaints.

A spokesperson for the Attorney General’s office declined to offer specifics on the nature of the investigation but encouraged anyone who may have a complaint about a transaction at Saratoga Nissan to call the AG’s consumer helpline at 1-800-771-7755.

Consumers can also go to the AG’s website, www.ag.ny.gov, to obtain a complaint form.

The spokesperson said they are being intentionally vague about the types of complaints they are seeking in order to not publicly disclose what the investigation involves. No one has been charged in the investigation, state police said.

Both state police and the AG’s office executed a search warrant at the dealership to seize business records. A Ryder truck loaded with boxes of documents left the dealership at about 2:30 p.m. Wednesday. Numerous investigators at the scene declined comment.

I too just had a horrific ordeal at SARATOGA NISSAN". And as they so nicely asked on this website I wrote to them FIRST to air my complaints/. I can honestly say I can believe everything I have read here?. I was there for 5 and 1/2 hours.. They asked me to call my insurance company and switch coverage over to a vehicle I didn't even agree on a price for:. When I was called into the office for the final time (one half hour after closing) they had already drawn up paperwork for a car I hadn't yet agreed to buy! They absolutely try to strongarm you & if you don't buckle under pressure they get an attitude with you|. It is EXTREMELY hard to believe that it is possible to have a dealership in this area stay in business with the tactics they practice,. All I can add is BUYER BEWARE! If anyone has any questions for me regarding my nightmare you can contact me at By the way- no one at SARATOGA NISSON has attempted to contact me to answer my complaint. 1289517

1st they're is the correct usage. 2nd never give the "employer only" addage, be thankful for the job you have. This makes you sound like the employed person owes you something.

I believe I said they TRY to strong arm and pretty sure I never used the word 'greed'. And what the *** does my complaint (which I think you are free to do in America) have to do with the recession or my paycheck? Sorry, you need to find another forum for your soapbox.

So did you buy a car?? I used to work in that business and I must say, it's only considered "strong arm" if you allow it to happen!! Any worker on commission does not necessarily get paid unless they make sales! Greed??? Absolutely not!! The majority have families that their so eager to support during the horrific recession! Be happy that you have a job where maybe you have a guaranteed paycheck, because someone else always has it worse!!!
